Our goal is for all persons with intellectual disabilities to have the chance to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities.
We are a not-for-profit organization that exists to help enrich the lives of very special athletes through competitive sports.
Very special people, who volunteer their time and talents to ensure the program's success, staff every aspect associated with the Special Olympics efforts. They are our coaches, fund raisers, events coordinators; they drive athletes to competitions, and prepare meals; and most importantly, they work with and support the athletes and their families.
The dedication and hard work on the part of our volunteers and the athletes' parents have made the Air Capital Flyers a success. We average 20 coaches and serve over 125 athletes; and, we offer a year-round athletics program that includes softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, bocce, bowling, flag football, track and field events and cheerleading.
We are grateful to our sponsors whose generosity and financial support allows us to provide such an enriching year-round program for our athletes.
If you are interested in being a sponsor, or volunteering for, or participating in the Air Capital Flyers program, please call 316-706-7297.
