Dear Air Capital Flyers and Families,
We have been looking for different fundraisers for the AC Flyers program.
We are excited to announce that beginning January 2018, we will begin a new monthly fundraiser serving breakfast the first Saturday of the month at the Oaklawn Community Center. Our immediate need is for anyone who would like to serve on the breakfast committee. This committee will coordinate volunteers, spread the word, and work on donations. Linda Hingst is going to be our breakfast coordinator. You may contact Linda at 316-796-9976 or email@example.com you would like to serve on the breakfast committee.
Each Flyer or family will be expected to volunteer one Saturday every six months. It will take approximately 6 adult volunteers and 4 Flyers per Saturday to cook, cashier, set up, serve and clean up.
Once our committee has been established, we will be notifying everyone who to contact as to what date you would like to sign up to help.
We are hoping that all Flyers will spread the word to their friends and family of this new fundraiser and invite them to come enjoy our breakfast.
GroupNote Messenger App is replacing the GroupMe app we have been utilizing to communicate practice or game cancellations. As this technology better suits our teams last minute communication needs. GroupNote app is one-way communication and does not share contact information.
This application, however, does require you to create an account, utilizing an existing email address and provide a password. When I issue the original GroupNote message for a sport, you will receive a link that you can click to download the app, or it will take you directly to the app.
Once the app has been installed on your device, open the app, then click the + sign at the top right corner. You will be give 3 options, click on the join me option and you will be promoted to enter the 4-digit code provided in the original message.
When establishing your account, be sure to allow for notifications to be sent to your phone. Otherwise, you will be required to check the conversation inside the app on practice days. It’s your responsibility to provide the team with a valid cell number to reach you via GroupNote. It’s also your responsibility to check for GroupNote, Facebook notification or the ACFlyersKS Weather Update script for cancellation notifications.
No GroupNote message, No Facebook post and/or web site weather band notes we have practice all means practice is being held. If weather is questionable, it is your responsibility to check these three communication formats up to 5:00 p.m. the day of practice.
To begin with GroupNote, just follow the prompts of these 3 basic steps.
- Download the iPhone or Android app
- Create Your Groupnote’s account
- Select the Join A Group option and insert the access code provided.
Abigail Beckman’s volunteer story involving the Air Capital Flyers coaches will air December 20th on KMUW, 89.1.
